For those of you who like to know all of the finer details, here they are.

All of the decking sub-structure is pressure treated using Tanalith preservative this company is widely recognised as the world leader in timber protective treatment. The timber is graded as C16 for strength and suitable for in ground use.
The method of construction is normally post & beam. 100 x 100mm posts are concreted in to the ground and then 100 x 50mm beams are bolted to the posts. The joists are then screwed to the beams @ 400mm centres, subject to deck design and finally the boards are screwed to the joists. Details may vary subject to design.
All exposed timbers are smooth planed and safe to touch, making it ideal and safe for children and adults alike.
Kingfisher offer smooth and grooved boards in hardwood and softwood to satisfy our clients requirements and both boards offer good anti slip properties providing they are kept clean.
All metal work associated with the decking is either galvanised or stainless steel which ensures a long service life.
The deck screws used are organically coated and salt spray tested to exceptionally high standards and will not rust or fail even in the most adverse weather conditions. Hardwood & Cedar boards are fixed using stainless steel screws.
A heavy duty weed suppressant membrane is installed below the deck to prevent plant and weed growth.
Any planning or local authority requirements are dealt with by Kingfisher so that you don’t have to.

If left for a prolonged period of time, all timber will eventually turn a silvery grey, this can be avoided if required by periodically treating your deck with decking oil, silicone water repellent or a proprietary decking stain. This will not extend the life of your deck but will keep it looking in pristine condition.
Subject to availability, we are able to fit any timber species our clients specify.
